Treaty of Middelburg
I want to empower women to raise their voices and to take action more. Also how we share information. Too often, the media focuses on fear and conflict, chasing what grabs attention instead of what brings us together. This constant stream of negativity taps into our natural negativity bias and can leave people feeling anxious, disconnected, or even convinced the world is worse than it truly is something known as mean world syndrome. I believe we can do better by choosing to tell stories that empower, connect, and inspire.

Why do you want to participate?
I'm deeply passionate about people's well-being and driven to help create a better tomorrow. I contribute by listening to others and sharing my own voice, and I'm ready to take action. I also love learning perspectives, and no matter where I am, I look for ways to connect and be part of a community.
What does freedom mean to you?
For me, freedom is to travel, to connect with people, to speak your mind respectfully, and to share your ideas without fear. Freedom is to be who you are without fear.
What are the biggest challenges?
Social media, news, and politics. Social media often discourages genuine connection, the news spreads fear and fuels xenophobia, and current politics sends a harmful guideline. Climate change and resource depletion are also major challenges. They bring restrictions, problems and contribute to growing climate anxiety.
Do you have a message?
I wish more people realized that the vast majority of us are kind, decent human beings. Most people are willing to help when help is needed. I hope we can learn to trust each other more, especially those beyond our own borders, and connect on a deeper level. We need to look beyond our negativity bias and the news that constantly feeds it, and remember that most people aren’t as selfish as we’ve been led to believe.
