Treaty of Middelburg
Oh! I suppose my answer to the last question answers this mostly :) In essence: compassion & patience for ourselves, and for each other. Again, the way I see it is that feeling safe enough to embark into uncharted territory is ultimate freedom.

Why do you want to participate?
I want to participate because I believe only through doing this together we can make a meaningful difference. Freedom means such a different thing, and at the same time the same, to so many people. And I am incredibly excited to learn more about how other experience this, so that I can develop myself into a person that can make meaningful, positive change with others.
What does freedom mean to you?
As someone who studies philosophy, this is a difficult question heh. I am reminded of the four freedoms; the freedom of speech and expression, the freedom of worship, the freedom from want, and the freedom from fear. All of these encompass what I see as the ultimate feeling of freedom: feeling safe to grow, learn and develop in each our own way. Feeling safe enough to step out of ones own comfort zone; ultimate freedom is feeling safe in unfamiliar situations.
What are the biggest challenges?
Good question! I would say that we have forgotten that not knowing something is okay. Not knowing yet what to think about a situation, for example. Social currents drive us into boxes, corners and opinions before we even have a chance to truly consider all sides of the situation. The polarisation that is happening as a result, this 'us' versus 'them' feeling, and that you're automatically seen as even worse if you do not scream your opinion from every roof, is incredibly damaging to the importance of nuance; of critical thinking and of being our own person. Yes, we all have the responsibilty to be informed about things that matter. And then act on it to the best of our abilities. But this includes with holding from 'meeloopgedrag'! So let's inform ourselves, let's think & let's create space for this.
