Treaty of Middelburg

I would like to see a world where everyone, especially young people, has the freedom to express their opinions without fear of consequences. I believe it’s important to create environments where people can speak openly, access information freely and have the opportunity to make choices that shape their future. I’d like to see less censorship and more platforms that encourage diverse voices and ideas, allowing everyone to contribute to the conversation.

Why do you want to participate?

I want to participate in the Youth Freedom Conference in the Netherlands because I see it as a great opportunity to learn, connect with others, and broaden my perspective on important global issues. I'm interested in understanding different views on freedom and how it impacts young people worldwide. Engaging in discussions, hearing real-life experiences, and exploring solutions to challenges related to youth and freedom would be a valuable learning experience and contribute to my personal growth.

What does freedom mean to you?

To me, freedom means having the ability to make my own choices, express myself, and pursue my goals while respecting others. It's about independence, opportunity, and a society where everyone has a fair chance to thrive.

What are the biggest challenges?

I think the biggest challenge for youth regarding freedom is not being able to voice their opinions and in some situations or parts of the world, even being afraid to do so. Coming from Russia, I’ve seen how young people can feel restricted in expressing themselves freely, whether due to political pressure, fear of judgment or other limitations. This lack of freedom to speak up is a major challenge for many youth today.

Do you have a message?

No, thank you for organising this conference!
