Treaty of Middelburg

I would like to see a world where people, especially young people, can express themselves freely without fear of judgment, societal pressure, or even getting hurt physically. I hope for a future where everyone can make their own choices and live authentically while being supported by a culture that values individuality and promotes mental well-being.

Why do you want to participate?

I am eager to become more active and expand my knowledge across various subjects. When I discovered the Youth Freedom Conference, I recognized it as a unique opportunity to be part of something impactful and meaningful. I am excited to apply for this conference as it aligns with my desire to engage with diverse perspectives and contribute to shaping a better future :)

What does freedom mean to you?

To me, freedom means the ability to pursue your interests without fear of judgment or pressure. It's a liberating feeling, much like the freedom of flight—unrestricted and limitless.

What are the biggest challenges?

In my opinion, one of the biggest challenges regarding freedom for young people (and in general) is the pressure from society. This comes from old norms and traditions that have been around for ages and can really limit how free people feel. Another major issue is social media. It often sets unrealistic standards that make it hard for young people to be authentic, or even make their own choices. This can negatively affect their mental health and well-being.

Do you have a message?

Achieving this would require forming a collective mindset leading us to a more inclusive and supportive world where freedom is not just a concept, but a lived reality.
