Treaty of Middelburg
To make the world better, we could focus on protecting people's information online, allowing more free speech while fighting false news, creating more job opportunities for everyone, taking better care of the environment, and encouraging countries to work together. It's also important to make sure everyone can get good information and education, strengthen democracy, and make sure new technologies help rather than limit people's freedoms. By working on these things, we can create a world where people have more control over their lives, can express themselves freely, and have the chance to grow and take part in society, no matter where they come from or what their situation is. This way, young people can help keep freedom important for future generations, even in our complex world.

Why do you want to participate?
I am passionate about participating in this event because I believe freedom is a precious, yet fragile concept that requires constant nurturing and protection, especially in our current global climate. Freedom is not a guarantee, and its preservation demands ongoing effort and dedication from each generation. This event presents a unique opportunity to engage with peers from diverse backgrounds, fostering a global dialogue on what freedom means in various contexts and how we can collectively safeguard it. Moreover, I recognize that the concept of freedom can evolve over time, and sometimes, even the most influential individuals may lose sight of the ideals they once held. By bringing together young voices with fresh perspectives, we have the potential to reinvigorate the global conversation on freedom and remind those in power of its fundamental importance.
What does freedom mean to you?
Freedom, to me, means feeling safe and well-protected by fair and just constitutional laws. It embodies the principle of "live and let live," where everyone can be who they truly are without fear of persecution or judgment. It also means not having to worry about national or international escalations that could threaten our way of life.
What are the biggest challenges?
Young people today face many challenges to their freedom. The internet age brings worries about privacy and being watched online, which can make people afraid to speak freely. Social media can trap people in bubbles where they only hear similar opinions. Money problems limit choices for many, while climate change threatens future resources. Adding to this, global conflicts between countries make the world less stable and can limit opportunities. These issues create a tricky situation for young people trying to keep their freedoms.
