Treaty of Middelburg
I would change how people perceive freedom. Nowadays, there are many instances where people for instance justify their hate speech using the freedom of expression. Or Covid pandemic showed us the misperception of freedom of many people. I would like to change this perception of my individual freedom to more of the solidarity and collective freedom. I would educate people how their free actions impact others.

Why do you want to participate?
I would like to participate in this conference because of my strong belief in rights, justice and freedom. Through this conference I would like to broaden my knowledge and how others with different life experiences perceive the notion of freedom.
What does freedom mean to you?
Freedom for me is a fundamental aspect of being and a good quality of life. As IR student taking part in the Amnesty International Student Group I have become even more aware of the true value of freedom and what the possession of this simple words enables you to do
What are the biggest challenges?
With the rise of social media and the development of AI and different policies how to govern this digital realm pose big challenge for freedom of young people. For instance, there is spread of misinformation on social media and censorship as well. Moreover, as another challenge I see the difficulty to become economically free. I mean, the job market is brutal, housing prices are on rise and many young people after finishing university are left with a student debt. Additionally, there is an issue with the freedom of expression of your identity. There are many states also in the EU where non conformity with the social status quo leads to a discrimination. Finally, the biggest challenge I see is the power imbalance in which the free will of the individual is not that free
Do you have a message?
I appreciate the idea to make space for young people to voice their concerns ideas and perceptions about this abstract yet important topic
