Treaty of Middelburg

I would like personal leadership to become part of the curriculum at schools so that youth learns to prioritise their norms and values. This will create a society that thinks before they speak, that loves each other because they love themselves, that respects each other because they respect themselves.

Why do you want to participate?

Because I want to become a Dutch Diplomat to inspire and lead the world to a better place.

What does freedom mean to you?

Freedom means being able to be yourself without having to be afraid of racism. Freedom is getting the chances to join programmes like these without it becoming a financial burden. Freedom is being understood and understanding each other!

What are the biggest challenges?

I think the biggest challenge the youth faces is not an external factor, but one’s own mind that does not give youth the space to be a free thinker. The government and many organisations want to involve the youth, but if one is pre-occupied by their own thoughts, likes and dislikes, how can one understand each other?

Do you have a message?

Freedom is a collective effort that starts with one’s self. If you want to change the world, change yourself first.
