Treaty of Middelburg

If I could change something, it would be ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, has access to education and opportunities that empower them to live freely. Knowledge and economic stability are key to true freedom, allowing people to make independent choices about their future.

Why do you want to participate?

I believe that in today’s world, freedom is an extremely important and relevant topic. I am curious to hear different perspectives on what freedom means to others and how it shapes their lives.

What does freedom mean to you?

To me, freedom means having the possibility to live your life the way you choose. It’s about making your own decisions and having the means to act on them. Freedom also includes political freedom—the ability to express yourself, share ideas, and engage with people who have different political viewpoints.

What are the biggest challenges?

One of the biggest challenges for young people is the way society shapes expectations and pressures. Social norms, economic barriers, and digital influence can limit personal freedom and self-expression. Many young people struggle with finding their own voice while dealing with these external influences.

Do you have a message?

One idea would be to create more spaces for open discussions where young people can express their thoughts without fear of judgment. Encouraging dialogue across different perspectives can help build mutual understanding and strengthen democratic values.
