Why do you want to participate?
Due to the historical events in my country I have a strong feeling about freedom. It is really valuable for me especially when now the situation in my country appears to elapse back to the repression. Given that, I would like to be more active in this regard. I would like to see different insights about freedom and be part even of a small change. That’s the why I would like to participate in this conference since I believe that it would enable me this things
What does freedom mean to you?
For me freedom means liberty of identity expression and performance without any form repression. However, when it comes to freedom I strongly agree with the quote: my freedom ends where the freedom of others start.
What are the biggest challenges?
From my personal experience young people are not taken seriously just because they do not have the life experience and are immature and therefore they do not have voice or place where they can voice their ideas opinions and worldviews. However, with initiatives like this or the EU this is slowly changing.
Do you have a message?
Growing up in Slovakia, a country that went through the hardships of socialism, I’ve come to truly appreciate the value of freedom. Even though I wasn’t alive during that time, I’ve heard enough about the struggles people faced under a system that took away personal liberties. It’s a reminder to all of us to never take our freedom for granted
